Suck It World!

Yeah, whatever.  I have a good life and all that but it's not what I want it to be yet so I have to keep working.  Should I be content or happy with what I have?  I'm sure a lot of people think I should but I don't want to be a desk jockey for the next 40 years of my life.  If I'm going to do that I can at least work for myself.  I do what I do right now and it's good.  But it's not great.  I want great.  I feel like if I settle for less than that I will always be semi-happy.  Never truly feel accomplished.  Honestly I don't know what's going into this thing but I'm a nerd at heart so there undoubtedly will be some nerdy stuff here.

I have a very technical and nerdy job at the moment but I definitely want to write a script and make or have the movie made.  Whichever.  I love sci-fi and I really feel there is a lack of good sci-fi movies.  Heard an interview with a musician the other day who said something along the lines of "musicians want a certain type of song to be made and they wait and nobody makes it so they make it themselves."  I suppose that's what I'll have to do with the sci-fi movie genre.  I will probably use this blog a little as a tool for developing some writing, maybe just hash out pieces of a story and smash them into a whole.  It's tough to tap into any creative side when your job and life is simply full of technical work.  On a related note, I'm pretty stoked about Cowboys and Aliens.  Seems like a pretty original flick with a lot of potential.  We'll see how it turns out.
